About Tidewater Pelvic Health

Meghan Karol, DPT

After spending ten years treating orthopedic injuries, sports-related issues, and balance problems, I developed a passion for pelvic health, especially treating pelvic pain, and helping women through pregnancy, birth prep and postpartum recovery. With a lot of extra classes, I’ve been able to expand my specialty care treating patients of all genders with painful sex, bladder or bowel issues, tailbone pain, constipation, and any pelvic health dysfunction.

At the heart of my care is connection and education. I believe in one-on-one treatment that gives you my full attention, so we can really get to the root of what’s going on. Every person’s body is different, so I create care plans that are truly individualized—not one-size-fits-all. I want you to feel heard, understood, and confident in how to manage your symptoms not just today, but for the long run.

I focus on helping you build awareness, strength, and confidence so you can feel good and stay active in your real life—not just in the clinic.

As a mom of three very active boys, I get how challenging it can be to fit one more thing into your day. That’s why I keep home programs practical, flexible, and realistic—because life doesn’t stop when you’re not feeling your best, and your care should support you where you are.

I earned my Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Maryland, Baltimore and my Bachelor’s in Human Nutrition, Foods, and Exercise from Virginia Tech.

The Tidewater Pelvic Health Difference

  1. You’ll always work one-on-one with a pelvic health specialist. Not being passed off to an aide or assistant—you deserve expert care every time.

  2. We treat the whole you, not just one body part. Pelvic health is connected to your whole body and your whole life, and your care plan will reflect that.

  3. Your goals matter most. We create a treatment plan that fits your needs, not just what insurance says is allowed.

  4. Real-life strategies for real-life people. You’ll get practical exercises and tools that actually work with your schedule—not a generic list of things you’ll barely have time to do.

  5. Each session is purposeful. We use your appointments to assess, brainstorm, and move your progress forward—not just fill time with repetitive sets of exercises.

  6. Hands-on, Eye-on Attention. I’ll help you through exercises with real-time feedback and correction—not leave you to figure it out alone.

  7. We aim for lasting results. The goal isn’t to feel “just okay”—it’s to empower you to manage your symptoms and feel truly better for the long haul.

  8. This is what we do. Tidewater Pelvic Health is focused on pelvic physical therapy—this isn’t a side service, it’s the heart of what we do.

  9. Children are always welcome. Need to bring your child to an appointment? No problem. Your health matters, and childcare should never be a barrier.

  10. Your privacy is a priority. All sessions take place in a private treatment room—no awkward curtain dividers or public gym conversations.

Brett R

One day last week, I left work in a hurry without going to the bathroom like a usually do, by the time I got to my car I was regretting that decision. It took about an hour and a half with MMBT traffic to get home. Even though I felt like I had to go, it never felt uncontrollable. I made it home without any leaks. Seemed like a win! When you first started helping me that definitely would not have been the outcome. Thanks for the help!
